Three fire crews were called to Hadfield in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday) after it was thought a Chinese takeaway was on fire.

Two Glossop Bluewatch crews, and one from Hyde, attended the takeaway on Green Lane at around 12:30am.

But it turned out that a pan had been left unattended and there was only smoke, not flames, billowing from the building.

Everyone inside was able to evacuate safely.

Fire fighters, who were at the scene for around 45 minutes, used two separate breathing apparatus to bring the smoke under control.
